Progress Report

March 6, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Stumbling ever closer to my 25th birthday, I find myself pausing and peering back nervously over my shoulder to reflect in a state of perpetual fear upon my life’s work. Being happily married to a wonderful wife, living in relative comfort, and not being pursued by shadowy government agents, I feel like I’m doing alright. I do realize that some people my age are curiously wealthy working as outrageously successful writers, porn stars, and/or civil servants. Thanks to my crushing insecurities and self-esteem issues, this sometimes annoys me. But I have amassed a grand collection of tourist pamphlets from the 1960s and a bottle of moderately price bourbon. I sleep away from strife and corruption. My past may be haunted by poor decisions, but no criminal record or ongoing civil lawsuits pursue me. I am an independent owner and operator of my own wok. So here, in my 25th March on this stumbling planet, I feel pretty good about stuff.

And thanks to the internet, I can constantly find new things to bring me down!
